Mercy Johnson Okojie was joined by veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, on Episode 9 of Mercy’s Menu, Season 3.
The pair had a great time talking and sharing experiences as they prepared catfish pepper soup with unripe plantain.
Ozokwor stated that she enjoys being a mom, a grandma, a minister and visiting her kids abroad.
She noted that she goes to London, United Kingdom when she needs to go or if her daughter asks her to come and rest.
Ozokwor stated that at a point in her life, she wanted to remarry after her husband died, but her children told her not to, while noting that they (her children) promised to take care of her.
The children also told her that they were all grown up and at their age their mother needed not remarry.
She stated that it looked like her kids were selfish, but she understood why they said so and it worked for her.
She noted that there is no sacrifice too huge for the family.
Ozokwor noted that as a young mum, one should be mindful of the way they dress up, behave, react and approach issues because children are watching your reactions.
She stated that children want to see your reaction so they will imitate you.
She said she stopped wearing makeup because God doesn’t want her to.
She noted that God is not against separation, but he is against divorce.
She stated that when there is violence in a relationship, then they should separate because it is only the living that can talk.
On infidelity, Ozokwor advised ladies not to leave their homes for anyone and hold their homes.
She stated that she takes care of girls who get pregnant out of wedlock as is against abortion.
She noted that women should cook for their families as homemade meals are healthier and more nutritious.
