Usman said: “At about 9:30 p.m. yesterday, suspected terrorists made futile attempts to attack Buratai town in Borno State and the military camp located in the area.
“Our gallant soldiers rose to the occasion and dealt with the situation but the terrorists made another concerted effort at about 3:00 a.m.Tuesday morning which was equally repelled by the same troop.”
Usman said the situation in the town had been stabilised as the military was doing everything to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people.
According to the statement, the town of Buratai is cool and calm and the soldiers are in control.
The statement enjoined all residents to remain calm, vigilant and to report any suspicious movement of persons to security agents nearest to them.
