The women numbering over 200 from Oko community in Orumba North Local Government Area had claimed that the excavation had made the area vulnerable to more erosion devastation.

The enforcement started with the pulling down of what it called illegal structures creating obstruction to human and vehicular movement.

Mike Okonkwo, the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka.
