Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos and the political godfather of the state, came out openly on Sunday to declare that he is opposed to Ambode’s re-election and is supporting his sole challenger, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ahead of the party’s much-postponed governorship primaries.
Adeola’s position is contained in a statement by his media adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Monday.
The supporters who came out in their hundreds, converged on the premises of the State Universal Basic Education Board in Maryland and matched through Ikorodu Road to Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, said Ambode deserved to be allowed to be in office beyond 2019 to continue his good works in all sections and sectors of the State.

Tinubu made his position known in a statement he personally signed on Sunday.
The APC governorship primary in the state is scheduled for Monday (today).
This runs contrary to the impression created by a photograph that showed Osinbajo with Sanwo-Olu trending in the media.
Sanwo-Olu, a former Commissioner of Training and Establishments, expressed the view in a statement he issued in Lagos.
The governor is currently deserted as critical stakeholders in the state have pitched tents with his rival, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The party shifted its governorship primary election to Monday.
Reacting to the purported endorsement of Babajide Sanwo-Olu by the GAC and shift of the party primary earlier scheduled for September 30, the Director General of AMSG, Hon. Hakeem Sulaimon, said the sudden turn of events does not augur well for democracy and unity of the party.
