Suspension, counter-suspension rock Ogun PDP

It has been suspension and counter-suspension galore in the fictionalised Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The two sides struggling for the soul of the PDP in the state have embarked on the suspension of prominent members of the party in the opposing faction.
A statement by the secretary of the Bayo Dayo-led faction of the party, Semiu Sodipo, pronounced suspended the party’s governorship candidate in the 2011 general election, retired General Adetunji Olurin; and the National Auditor of the party, Chief Bode Mustapha.
Also suspended by the Dayo-led faction are the Chairman of the opposing faction, Senator Dipo Odujirin; Dapo Adeyemi; and Yahaya Ahmed.
Those pronounced suspended by the Dayo-led faction enjoy the support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
They were purportedly suspended for anti-party activities.
But in what appeared a retaliatory move, the Obasanjo-backed faction has also pronounced suspended some members of the Dayo-led faction.
The faction suspended a prominent leader of the PDP in the state, Chief Buruji Kashamu; a former Secretary of the party in the state, Chief Pegba Otemolu; Alhaji Semiu Shodipo; and Segun Sowunmi.
The Publicity Secretary of the Obasanjo-backed faction, Bidemi Osunbiyi, announced the suspension.
Osunbiyi said the suspension will last for 30 days.
While the suspension is in force, those suspended are to face a disciplinary committee.
