State of emergency: Army imposes curfew in Adamawa

The Nigerian Army has announced the imposition of a dusk-to-dawn
curfew in Adamawa State beginning from Thursday.
Adamawa State is among the three states where a state of emergency was declared by President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the 23rd Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Yola, Lieutenant Ja’afaru Nuhu, on Thursday in Yola, the state capital, said the curfew would be between 6pm and 6am until further notice.
Ja’afaru said in the statement: “Sequel to the Presidential
declaration of state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states by the president and commander in chief of the armed forces of the
federal republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan, a 6pm to 6am curfew has been imposed on Adamawa State.
“All law abiding citizens are advised to abide by the curfew.”
Meanwhile, business and other activities are going on normally in Yola in spite of the deployment of soldiers and policemen to strategic places.
