The committee set up to reposition Rangers International FC of Enugu ahead of the CAF Champions League says it has met with the players and technical crew and will work with them.
Steve Oruruo, the Chairman of Rangers Repositioning Committee, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Enugu that the committee had met “one-on-one” with those concerned.
He said that the committee’s move became necessary since it took the commitment on their part to achieve victory at the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League.
Oruruo said: “We are leaving no stone unturned since even drivers in the club played their part effectively for us to achieve our decades-long victory in the league.
“The committee will within a few weeks look into complaints emanating from members of the ‘Rangers Big Family’ to clearly resolve them ahead of the CAF Champions and NPFL League.
“The committee want to enshrine a culture that the club is not just a football club but a renaissance movement and which heralds Nigeria’s greatness in football within the African continent.”
Oruruo lauded Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for his unflinching support, while appealing to him to do more as the club starts its continental campaign.
He said: “We are also urging other governors in the country and football loving Nigerians to support the club to bring glory to the country.”
The committee’s terms of reference included to tinker on players to be recruited, retained and those to be placed on the transfer market.
It is also to consider the programme by the club’s coach for the 2016/2017 CAF and NPFL leagues.
The committee will see to the signing of contract of the assistant coaches of the club among others.
