Ekenne Elikee, a Pharmacist with Ekenna Natures Limited in Enugu State, on Wednesday said the deadly disease, cancer, was curable in the country.
Elikee made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.
He spoke at the end of a one-day seminar held at the University of Abuja.
The seminar had as its theme: “Cancer cure with medical plants.”
It was aimed at creating awareness on the cure of cancer in the country, using natural herbs.
Elikee said: “Many Nigerians are dying of cancer.
“Some of them travel abroad in search for its cure.
“Cancer patients should have hope.
“A cure is now available in Nigeria.
“We have tested it and it has worked for more than 10 patients.
“The country is rich in medicinal plants.
“One such plant is cabbage.”
Elikee said 90 per cent of diseases are caused by what we eat and advised that chemical agents like preservatives should be avoided.
He said they usually fight against bacteria cells in the body.
He said: “Cancer is degenerative and we need something to regenerate it.
“If we must achieve that, we must stop using chemicals that are degenerative in nature.
“Preservatives and food colourants are some of such chemicals.
“Whatever inhibits the growth of bacteria also inhibits the development of nuisance.”
Elikee, therefore, solicited government’s support in the fight against cancer.
He also advised the society not to patronise roadside concoction peddlers, but should get their cure from well researched herbal medicine sources.
