Nigerian wonder kid, Victor Osimhen, has revealed he turned down the chance to sign for Arsenal in favour of joining Bundesliga giants Wolfsburg.
The 17-year-old was being tracked by both Tottenham and Arsenal after scoring 10 goals for Nigeria at the U17 World Cup in October.
Arsene Wenger is close to bringing Osimhen’s compatriots, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze, to the Emirates and he was hopeful of a deal for the striker after he spent some time with the Gunners last year.
However, the youngster has revealed he turned down Arsenal’s approach to agree to move to Germany instead.
“It’s true that a big team like Arsenal wanted me and I feel honoured to have been invited over,” said Osimhen.
“But personally I feel Wolfsburg is a ladder for me to reach my professional goals.
