Ondo blessed with human, natural resources – Olowolabi

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Yemi Olowolabi, has described the State as one of the most peaceful in Nigeria, noting that it is blessed with abundant human, natural and material resources.
The Commissioner stated this in Akure, the Ondo state capital while playing host to students and management staff of Christ the King International School, Gbagada, Lagos, who were in the state for a three-day educational tour.
Olowolabi enjoined the visiting students and staff to take a tour to the Idanre hills in order to appreciate the beauty of nature, adding that on their next visit they should endeavour to visit the longest coast line in Africa, the Ayetoro beach, which he said is one of the major tourists sites in the state.
He, therefore, reiterated the commitment of the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration to revamping the State’s educational sector by investing heavily in the system.
He said Governor Akeredolu was determined to making sure every child in the State has access to quality education, no matter where they live.
Olowolabi also said that over 400 public schools have been renovated and equipped with modern learning tools, adding that this will assist pupils with learning faster and better understand what they were being taught in class.
He maintained that the interventions of the Governor in the education sector has yielded positive results, as more enrollment was recorded in the State’s public schools.
In his remarks, the School’s Vice Principal (Academics), Moses Oyewumi, said they are touring Ondo and Oyo States as part of the school’s academic calendar.
Oyewumi said this was aimed at exposing the students to different states as a way of learning new things.
He affirmed that Ondo State was chosen because the state is blessed with various human and natural resources.
The VP of the school added that coming to the Ministry of Information and Orientation was to get first hand information about the state, stating that the school has been embarking on the educational tour since 2005.
The leader of the visiting team also appreciated the management of the Ministry for the warm reception.
Thereafter, copies of the ministry’s newsletter were presented to the students and staff of the school so as to be well informed about the activities of the government.
