Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, has tendered an unreserved apology to Nigerians following an unsportsmanlike attitude against Chad on Saturday.
The Lazio player earned a straight red card after he carelessly shoved off an opponent in their 2-0 win at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The remorseful player later pleaded for forgiveness via his twitter handle @OnaziOgenyi, saying: “I don’t ever feel like I have the right to refuse the criticism of the same people who praise me even when I don’t deserve it.
“I let my team mates and our loyal fans down with my action on the pitch today. I apologise for my actions. Thank you for your usual support.
“Thank you all for your support and praises, even when I don’t deserve them.”
