The Ogun State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council has pledged its support and cooperation to the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State.
The new Chairman of the body, Comrade Sanyaolu Abayomi, made the pledge on Friday in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Abayomi made the pledge when he led chairmen of 14 political parties in the state to a consultative meeting with the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi.
Addressing the gathering, which also had the Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Tunde Oladunjoye, in attendance, the IPAC Chairman repeated his earlier reported stance that the body “is not an opposition group to the government and cannot play the role of opposition, neither can it endorse a candidate.

“We are here to pledge our loyalty to the government.
“We are partners in progress in taking our state to greater heights.
“We want to call on the government to open its doors for us and to carry us along in the implementation of its ISEYA agenda.
“We are not an opposition party.
“We want to work hand-in-hand with the government.
“If there were disagreements within IPAC in the past, we want to assure the government that those issues have been resolved today and IPAC is now one house and we are forging ahead as one.”
While urging that such interface with government should be on a regular basis, Abayomi commended Abiodun on his achievements, especially in the area of education.
He informed that IPAC has already unveiled exercise books that would be distributed across Ogun State in demonstration of its support for the government’s accomplishments in the education sector.
Responding, Talabi said the current administration in the state is dedicated to the promotion of peace and harmony in the state.
He said: “Government is not interested in a divided IPAC.
“You are better together and we are always willing to work with IPAC as a political advisory body.
“We run an inclusive government as it has been demonstrated severally and we are always ready to partner with genuine lovers of our administration and the state.”
