MFM FC V Kano Pillars
Venue: Agege Stadium
Kick off:4pm
Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC will welcome Kano Pillars to the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 4pm with a bright chance to nick the maximum points in one of Matchday 5 fixtures of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.
Smarting from their glorious outing in their last league game against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan where the Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu-led Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club picked their first away point of the season after a one-all draw, the modest NPFL team are set to continue their fine home form seeking for another big win in today’s game against visiting Pillars.
This meeting will be the third between both teams.
The two teams settled for a 1-1 draw last season in their first meeting in Lagos with Stanley Okorom netting MFM FC’s only goal of the game, while Rabiu Alli put the match on level terms after a well taken spot kick.
The hosts currently sit in the third place on the NPFL log with three points behind leaders, Plateau United, and a point behind second-placed Rivers United.
Pillars on the other hand occupy the seventh position on the table with six points from four league matches.
A win for the Olukoya Boys will take them to a better position on the league standings.
The Lagos-based team will be without recuperating goalkeeper, Folarin Abayomi and defender Nwaga Chuka for the match. Former First Bank FC goal-getter, Waheed Adebayo, has been called upon to replace Abdullahi Suleiman in Ilechukwu’s 18-man squad.
The young striker is expected to make his first appearance in the Nigerian top flight.
With four goals netted in this campaign, MFM FC top scorer, Stephen Odey, believes his team will continue with the good run of form.
“All eyes are on us now, we have no choice than to keep up the momentum. By the special grace of God we will emerge victorious,” Odey said.
