Nollywood actresses, Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing, have reacted to their suspension by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria.
Recall that The Eagle Online earlier reported that the association, led by Bolaji Amusa, aka Mr. Latin, on Sunday barred its member from working with the actresses over allegations of disrespectful comments made on social media.
Also, an Executive Member of TAMPAN and actor, Jide Kosoko, threatened to frustrate the actresses out of the industry.
Reacting to the association’s new position, Ojo took to her Instagram handle with a quote about how the culture of silence continues to encourage child molestation.
Ojo wrote: “Silence is golden is why a lot of our girl or boy child gets abused, molested or raped daily and yet they are afraid to speak up.
“Because they will be bullied or silenced by the same society meant to protect them.
“Silence aren’t golden in Nigeria
“I can never be silenced, know that & know God.”
Blessing also took to her Instagram story to query the motives behind Kosoko’s decision to blacklist her.
She said: “Sir, can you boldly tell the whole world why you are pained.
“I guess not.
“Ewo Efimisile.”
Although the actresses are not members of the association, its executives claim they have made derogatory statements about the industry hence the position to blacklist them.
