South Africa 2013 Nations Cup revelation, Sunday Mba, has expressed his dismay over his denial to travel with Enugu Rangers for the CAF Champions League second leg game against the Recretivo Libolo of Angola.
Speaking against the backdrop of his inability to make the trip, the striker, who was dropped at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Thursday, stated that it was regrettable to have missed the must-win game in Luanda.
His words: “I have opted to pay my uncle in Lagos a visit after missing the trip to Angola. I actually wanted to assist Rangers win the game in Angola. It’s regrettable that the German Embassy refused to release my international passport when it was requested for by the Rangers officials.
“I’m seriously praying for the team to return with a victory and also pray to play a role in the subsequent games of the CAF Champions League.
“Rangers is a great club with good people and I hope I reciprocate the good gestures.”
Mba and other home-based players’ international passport have since been submitted by the Nigeria Football Federation to the German Embassy to process an entry visa ahead of the Super Eagles camping, which is expected to commence later this month.
