Mark mourns former Deputy Senate President, Wash Pam

The Senate President, David Mark, on Thursday in Abuja lamented over the death of second republic Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. John Wash Pam.
Wash Pam was said to have died on Thursday at at National Hospital Abuja, after a battle with cancer.
This was contain in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Mark described Wash Pam as a democrat per excellence and one of the pillars of the country’s democracy.
The statement expressed regrets that with Wash Pam’s death, Nigeria had lost an unrepentant democrat, who was in the fore front of the return to civil rule.
The statement said the exploits of late Wash Pam, especially in the first, second and third republics, could not be forgotten.
According to the statement, he died when his wealth of experience is needed to navigate through the nation’s murky political waters.
The statement said: “His death at this time of our nation’s political history is a big blow. He was a great parliamentarian who contributed positively to the political evolution of Nigeria. We shall miss him.”
It urged the government and people of Plateau State to immortalise the foremost legislator and politician who stood to be counted when it mattered.
