Nollywood actor, director and producer, Kunle Afolayan, has won major awards at the just concluded Africa Magic Choice Awards held in Lagos on Saturday.
Afolayan, with his latest film, October 1, won Best Director, Best Lightening, Best Supporting Actress in Drama and Over All Best Film of 2014.
These four awards made him the leading winner of the 2015 edition of AMVCA, while O.C. Ukeje came second, winning in three different categories of the award.
The leading winners also went home with N1 million each and will also receive Amstel Malta for six months each.
Afolayan, while appreciating the organisers, also thanked his financier for the flick, Elizade Motors boss, Chief Micheal Adeojo; and the Lagos State Governor, Babtunde Fashola (SAN), for their contribution in no small measure towards the success of the film.
He said: “I hold these set of people to high esteem for their contribution towards the success of October 1 and I also thank the Federal Government for the grant given me to make October 1 a global film.”
This year’s AMVCA was a success as many actors across the African continent came to witness the night of honour.
