Kalu commends Rotary Club of Jalandhar, India

Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has commended the Rotary Club of Jalandhar, India its legendary humanitarian services.
Kalu stated this when he was hosted at a special meeting of the club at the Regent Park Hotel, Jalandhar.
In his brief remarks at the event, Kalu, who is also a Rotarian with Rotary Club of Maiduguri, Borno State, said with approximately over 1.2 million Rotarians belonging to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas, there is no doubt that the humanitarian services of the club is felt globally.
He lauded the Rotary Club of Jalandhar for its high impact service projects, most especially in the areas of health and education.
He noted that the district has uplifted the lives of the people in their locality by providing free surgeries, help to inmates of Pingla Ghar, distribution of books and sports items to students of government primary schools, among others.
He further stated that the district has kept the flag of Rotary Club high by sustaining the global motto of Rotary Club, which is: “Service Above Self.”
He charged the members to remain selfless and committed to improving the society.
Rotarian S.K. Bansal, President of the club, thanked Kalu and his entourage for honouring their invitation.
Bansal said as Rotarians, it is always our pleasure to invite each other to share initiatives locally, nationally and globally towards changing and improving the lives of others.
