The President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday met behind closed doors with the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was the first between them since Sanusi ascended the throne of the Emir of Kano.
The Emir arrived the Presidential Villa in company with members of his Emirates-in-Council and his personal aides in his right-hand driven old Rolls Royce.
It would be recalled that the Emir, who is the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, had disagreements with the Federal Government over the revenue accruing into the account of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation.
The two met before President Jonathan departed for the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party to pick the expression of interest and nomination for Presidential election in 2015.
Details of the discussion at the meeting were not known.
The Emir declined to answer questions from State House correspondents after the meeting.
Sanusi was shielded by his security guards into his Roll Royce saloon.
He merely acknowledged greetings as he was driven out of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
