Hyundai’s iX35 SUV makes mark at ‘Headies’ Awards

In line with Hyundai Motors global youth development programmes, Hyundai Motors Nigeria in collaboration with HipHop World has presented prized Hyundai iX35 sport utility vehicle to Marvin Records Reekado Banks, winner of the ‘Next Rated’ commemorative plaque at the just ended 2015 ‘Headies’ Awards.
The 22-year-old University of Lagos History and Strategic Study graduate, Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, popularly called Reekado Banks, outshined rival nominees – Kiss Daniel, Cynthia Morgan, Korede Bello and Lil’ Kesh – to emerge winner in the ‘Next Rated’ category of the contest.
Next Rated category spotlights probable outstanding artiste and is arguably the most coveted grouping in the nine-year-old musical show, with past winners including international music sensation Asa, Wande Coal, Omawunmi, Wizkid, Davido, Sean Tizzle and Patoranking.
Stallion Hyundai Motors Nigeria has since 2011 underwritten the Next Rated category of Headies’ Awards, a seeming adaptation of the prestigious Grammy Awards, where local outstanding and upcoming artistes in the year are honoured.
In his post award remarks, Hyundai Motors Nigeria Head of Sales and Marketing, Jatin Nadkarni, said: “Hyundai is delighted to be associated with Headies’ entertainment’ talent hunt initiative which has consistently celebrated local music icons with recourse to the consequence of music being one of the most effective media of communication and the best way to reach out to the world most potent population.”
“We intend to continue to use this platform to raise the profile of evolving arts that are fast becoming an attribute for socio-cultural emancipation.”
Also remarking that the sponsorship was in harmony with Headies, the HMN sales and marketing helmsman said the musical show could subsequently rid the streets of drifters.
Nadkarni added that Hyundai vehicles are stylish, sleek and sporty, with dynamic curves that could best be likened to contemporary youth transformation and their socio-cultural philosophy.
He said: “I am convinced Reekado will find this elegant 2.0litre powered Hyundai iX35 delightful to drive, given its unique attributes that enhances performance, reduced fuel consumption and lower Co2 emission.”
Other attributes of the iX35 are crafted new seat upholstery, soft touch front and rear door trims with ambitious 60/40 split rear seat.
The iX35 is similarly equipped with new projector headlights and LED driving lights that enhance night travels with steering wheel audio control and USB auto input and iPod compatibility plus Aux input, which all makes the car fun to drive.
