In a fit of anger, a husband, Kazeem Sholola, has poured hot oil on his wife, Mutiat Sholola, and followed it up with stabbing her in the head in the Owode Elba area of Ogun State.
The spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command and a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed this.
In a statement she issued on Saturday, Odutola said the development was reported on the same day to the Divisional Police Officer of Owode Egba Police Division.
She said the DPO promptly intervened in the case of gender-based violence and assault, and promptly arrested the husband.

According to the police statement, the incident was reported to the police on Saturday at about 12:20pm by the Ring Road Community.
It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head.
Odutola added: “The victim was taken to Ore Ofé Hospital for medical attention, and the crime scene was examined.
“The suspect has been apprehended and is currently under investigation.
“Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”
