Gunmen on Thursday killed seven security personnel in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.
Those killed were a Lt. Col., three naval ratings and four policemen.
The yet-to-be-identified gunmen carried out the killing along the waterways of Nembe and Brass Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State.
The four policemen were said to have been shot dead at the Marine Police Checkpoint, Nembe Creek.
The army officer and the naval ratings were reportedly killed at Okpoama River Junction at about 10am on their way to Ogbia Waterside.
The spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Emokpae Eguavoen, confirmed the killing of the four policemen.
