Gunmen kidnap ex-presidential candidate

The National Chairman of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria and the presidential candidate of the party in the 2015 general election, Alhaji Gani Galadima, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
Galadima was kidnapped on Friday morning in Osara village, after Obajana in Kogi State, on his way to attend the burial of his elder brother in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
He is also the Deputy National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council.
The National Chairman of IPAC and Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, Chief Peter Ameh, confirmed the abduction in an interview with The Punch.
Ameh said the kidnappers have called him on the telephone to demand for N40 million.
He told The Punch: “Alhaji Gani Galadima, was kidnapped this (Friday) morning in Osara village after Obajana.
“He was traveling to his village to attend the burial of his elder brother in Ilorin, Kwara State.
“I have reported the matter to the police.”
