The Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, Dominic Iorfa, has picked holes in the pronouncement of the NIgeria Football Federation’s Organising and Disciplinary Committee, which gave two boardroom victories and a replay in some recent botched matches in the Glo Premier League.
NFF O &D sat on Thursday and decided there were sufficient evidence to award three points and three goals to Sunshine Stars and Enyimba of Aba in their games against 3SC and Kano Pillars respectively.
The committee also ordered for the replay of the Kwara United versus Warri Wolves’ tango in Abuja.
Speaking against the backdrop of this, Iorfa noted that the NFF is not setting the right precedent based on how some cases before the present ones were treated.
He cited Lobi Stars appeal to the League Management Company and the NFF on the dastard act perpetrated by Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium in a first stanza league game, which ended 2-2.
Iorfa stated that he filed a strong worded protest on how Gombe United fans allegedly manhandled his players, team officials and cameraman because the club was leading against the Savannah Scorpions.
The former NFF executive board member further complained that he was not spared by the irate mob that also descended on him and stole his phones and other valuables close to N2 million.
The former Super Eagles’ player said he lodged a formal complaint but that LMC failed to act on it because it was said the report never reflected in the Match Commissioner’s report.
His said: “I found it difficult to understand the decision of the NFF’s O&D because I see it as a case of double standard to other clubs.
“I don’t think the judgement was done with human face at all.
“How do they explain the award of boardroom points to some clubs but some that have witnessed even incidents that were ugly than this never got decisions like this?
“It was established that my players were beaten and my technical officials were physically assaulted in our game away to Gombe United.
“My cameraman got his camera seized.
“But to my greatest surprise, all my entreaties to the LMC and the NFF’s O&D never got the desired result because I was told the incident did not reflect in the match commissioner’s report.
“What are we turning our league to?
“Will the common person ever get justice in this country?
“I lost close to N2 million worth of valuables and I was also touched by the Gombe United fans but nothing was done.
“Does that mean that if Gombe United comes to Katsina Ala and they are also molested and it doesn’t reflect in the match commissioner’s report, nothing happens?”
