Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State on Thursday sacked six commissioners from the State Executive Council.
The commissioners were sacked after the monthly state executive council meeting in Damaturu and no reason was given by the governor for the action.
Those affected included Alhaji Yerima Aji-Bularafa, Commissioner for Higher Education; Health, Hajiya Fatsuma Talba; and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Alhaji Yusuf Yahaya.
Others were Alhaji Musa Dumburi, Youth Development; Alhaji Ahmed Wakil-Sarki, Environment; and Alhaji Bala Haladu, Transport and Energy.
Gaidam commended them for their contributions to the development of the state, adding that they may be called again to serve the government in other capacities.
The former commissioners have served as cabinet members for between three to 10 years.
