Fenerbache of Turkey star, Emmanuel Emenike, lived up to his billings in Super Eagles’ training on Thursday ahead of the AFCON 2015 clash against Congo.
Though all the stars, 22 of them, are fit to start, according to Head Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, but Emenike was the goalkeepers’ nemesis.
Emenike’s rising profile in front of goalkeepers was obvious as his powerful runs, crosses and blistering goals came to the fore even as he played on the side of the possible against the probables in the training session.
New boy, Christian Ighodaro Osagunna, also showed signs that he has a future with the team, with smart plays when given the ball in front of goalkeepers.
But the man who stole the show on the evening was El-Kanemi Warrior’s goalkeeper, David Obiaozor, who was having his first training session with the team.
Obiazor dived, parried and clutched balls to the delight of hundreds of fans who turned out to watch the team’s training under very clement weather in Calabar, Cross River State ahead of the clash on Saturday.
