EFCC releases Abati

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released from its detention Dr. Reuben Abati, the spokesman of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Abati was released late on Friday.
Sources said he was released about the same time a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, was also granted freedom by the EFCC.
Abati, based on an invitation by the EFCC, reported at the anti-graft agency’s office in Abuja on October 21.
He was accused of having collected N50 million from the the National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.
He was asked to refund it, beginning with N5 million.
However, Abati was said to have told his interrogators he could not raise N5 million.
His international passport has been reportedly seized by the EFCC.
