Delta’s CP Aduba retires at 60

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ayo Ikechukwu Aduba, on Tuesday bowed out of service.
The CP was pulled out of service with his 60th birthday anniversary.
Aduba served for 33 years in the Nigeria Police Force.
During the CP’s three years in Delta State, he epitomized a movement, a marked shift that formed a significant phase in the life of a whole generation of police officers in the oil rich state and Nigeria at large.
He discharged his duty with human face, tremendous finesse and re-engineered the state into living right in an atmosphere devoid of intimidation and justice.
The intrepid officer, who was described by his admirers as “daring and performing”, said he was fulfilled that “blood thirsty and dare-devil armed robbers and kidnapping kingpins in Delta State faced full wrath of the law”.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, a Deputy Suprintendent of Police: “The CP has smashed numerous gangs of violent criminals and worthy of mention is Boko Haram sect that has killed so many policemen and good citizens in Bauchi State among several breakthroughs in his current posting to Delta State.”
While Kalu maintained that “posterity has in a short while earned him so many achievements”, she added: “As a goal-getter of honour, distinction and excellence, a dynamic, pragmatic police officer and by reason of his multiple training and academic inclination, he has combined both academics and experience to affect the lives of this generation.”
She listed his numerous awards to include Quintessence Award of Excellence by MIC Sage Communication and Publishers of Network Africa, award of Transparency in Office by NAOAS UNEC and Ambassador of Peace Award by Igbo Law Students Association of the University of Jos in Plateau State.
The Eagle Online gathered at the valedictory session held at the command’s headquarters in Asaba Tuesday that “high-tech” lobbying has kicked off at the Force Headquarters, Abuja over who his successor will be.
