Nine council chairmen under the aegis of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria
in collaboration with councilors in their council areas have thrown their weight behind the governorship flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
At an enlarged meeting in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, the chairmen charted a new cause to deliver Okowa and other PDP candidates in the state in the forthcoming elections.
The host Chairman, Hon. Chuks Oseme, who described Okowa as the “new dawn”, said nothing would dissuade them from making his victory a reality.
The council boss, who described chairmen and councillors as “leaders at the grassroot in their respective wards”, noted that Okowa’s endorsement by the whole chairmen, councillors and all the political appointees at the council level in Delta North was the first of its kind in the history of the state.
Oseme urged all the elected and appointed leaders to take charge of their immediately constituencies by preventing opposition from gaining in-road like what happened during rerun and 2011 general elections.
He charged them to work assiduously to deliver PDP candidates in their respective wards “all the way”.
The chairman of Ika North-East, Hon. France Eboka, noted that PDP deserves a total victory in all the positions, tasking the chairmen on the margin of winning

Eboka said: “We don’t want lose any seat in these nine local government areas or history will not forgive us because the governorship candidate is from our senatorial district.
“Now is the time to bring the past glory of the Aniomas back.”
