The Cycling Federation of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the African Cycling Confederation on the hosting of the 2019 Africa Track Cup in Abuja.
The President of CFN, Giandomenico Massari, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Abuja that the MoU would help Nigeria to prepare adequately for the competition.
He said the signing of MoU was a fulfillment of the early approval given to Nigeria by the CAC to host the event.
Massari said the MoU was signed during the Union Europe Cycling Congress which ended in Rome, Italy on Sunday and was held jointly with the CAC.
NAN reports that the CAC President, Mohamed Azzam, had earlier issued a letter to CFN signifying the approval of hosting of the Africa Track Cup by Nigeria.
“With the MoU, the Africa Track Cup will now hold at the Abuja National Stadium velodrome from July 27 to July 28,” he said.
NAN reports that the UEC congress is an annual meeting of cycling stakeholders around the world.
The 2019 UEC congress was particularly significant, as it was, for the first time ever, organised together with the CAC.
