An Ebonyi High Court has ordered the remand of six men in Abakaliki Correctional Centre for alleged theft of a C480 motorcycle worth N150, 000.
The defendants; Cosmos Nkwegu, 28, Chikwado Atam, 27, Chigbogu Nkoro, 28, Timothy Okemini, 29, Abaraham Edda, 35 and Ozoemena Enigwe, 29 are facing a three-count charge of armed robbery, conspiracy and assault.
Earlier, the Prosecuting Counsel, Ijeoma Ajanwachukwu, alleged that the defendants committed the offenses on February 19, at Ndiuruku Amagu Community in Abakaliki Local Government area of Ebonyi.
She claimed that the defendants armed with gun and other dangerous weapons robbed one Chika Okemini of his C480 motorcycle valued N150, 000, Itel phone, N10, 000 and cash sum of N20, 000.
She said the offence contravened section 516A (a) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 33, Vol. 1, law of Ebonyi State, Nigeria, 2009.
Meanwhile, Justice Ogwu has adjourned the matter until March 15 for further hearing.
