Mansur Abdullahi, an Assistant Coach with the Falconets, on Friday said coaches’ welfare in Nigeria has not only improved but has become better in comparison with other African countries.
Abdullahi told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that some coaches with Nigerian clubs now earn as high as N1.5 million and above monthly alongside other allowances and privileges.
The coach, who commended Nigeria Football Federation for giving football in Nigeria its pride of place, said football would soon be more enterprising in Nigeria just as obtainable in Europe.
He said: “Football administration and management in the country have, through the policies of the NFF, turned around the fortunes of critical stakeholders like players and coaches for the better.’’
Abdullahi said he was sure the federation was determined to take football to the level where it should be to provide jobs and create wealth.
He said: “Football in Nigeria today is very enterprising, unlike before when players and coaches were poorly paid.
“Today some coaches earn about N 1.5 million while some players with Nigerian clubs earn up to N700,000 and above monthly.’’
