The Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Hon. Adejare Bello, has presented his letter of credence to the country’s President, Andres Manual Lopez Obrador.
According to a release from his office, the ceremony, which took place at the National Palace in Mexico City, coincided with the presentation of similar letters from ambassadors of other 11 countries, including the United States of America, New Zealand, Belgium and Bangladesh.
Ambassador Bello, while delivering President Muhammadu Buhari’s message, solicited for more collaborative efforts that would enhance the two nations’ bilateral relations.
“I want to use this auspicious occasion to solicit for more collaborative efforts between Nigeria and Mexico with a view to enhancing our bilateral relations, spanning 45 years,” he enjoined.
Also, the envoy implored that the existing Memoranda of Understanding and bilateral agreements between the two countries be made effective for the benefits of their nationals.
Bello, who equally showcased the inherent opportunities in Nigerian, urged Mexicans to take advantage of the relations in investing in the country’s economy “because of its vast market and population.”
While calling on President Obrador to visit Nigeria, he commended him for his fight against poverty, insecurity and his Fourth Transformation Agenda.
Meanwhile, according to the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, the Mexican helmsman has expressed his willingness to visit Nigeria, while urging President Muhammadu Buhari to do the same by visiting Mexico.
