Nigeria’s Super Eagles has climbed one spot to the 52nd position in the World football governing body, FIFA, monthly ranking that was made public on Thursday.
The three-time African champions polled a total of 600 points, which is a slight improvement from its 599 point in August.
The Nigerian side, who are 10th on the continent, lag behind Algeria, Cote d’ Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Senegal, Cape Verde Islands, Cameroon, Congo and Egypt.
Meanwhile, there were some notable changes in the October edition of the ranking.
At the top, Germany has reclaimed second spot and trail leaders, Argentina, by just 18 points.
Belgium completes the top three.
Other climbers in the top 10 include Portugal and Spain, while Colombia and Brazil have lost ground.
Spain’s re-entry, after three months, is down to two wins in qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2016, while Wales and Austria has achieved their highest-ever rankings, with the latter having already qualified for next year’s tournament.
