Peter Onyekachi has been ruled out for two weeks following a groin injury he sustained in the Nigeria U-23 camp.
The forward, who returned to the club last weekend, will be out of Wednesday’s derby with Heartland as well as Sunday’s trip to Shooting Stars.
The team doctor, Ferdinand Ajere, revealed this on Tuesday morning after the team’s workout session.
“He will miss these two games we have against Heartland and 3SC,” Ajere said. “From next week, we would reexamine him and see what progress he has made, but it’s certain that he will not feature in any game for at least two weeks.
“It was while he was in the camp of the U-23 that he noticed he had injured himself. As soon as he called me, I told him to return immediately so we can determine the extent of the injury and begin immediate treatment.”
Onyekachi joined Enyimba from neighbours, Abia Warriors, at the start of the season and has scored once for the club in the CAF Champions League.
