The Lagos State Government has warned residents to be wary of fake Ebola Cassette Test Kits currently in circulation in the state, insisting there are no certified Ebola kits in the market.
The government described the marketers of the kit as unscrupulous elements who are only out to deceive unsuspecting residents and make brisk business from anxious frightening citizens.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mr Hakeem Bello, the state government urged the residents to maintain personal hygiene, saying there are no Ebola kits manufactured anywhere in the world.
The statement said: “The rapid Response Canada with test results purportedly available in 10 minutes as a hoax. There are no Ebola test kits manufactured anywhere in the world besides the technique for its manufacture does not exist yet. Members of the public should not to patronize the dubious marketers of the product”.
