House Minority Leadership: PDP NWC yet to receive BoT Committee’s report

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has yet to receive any report from the committee set up to intervene on the House of Representatives minority leadership tussle.
The party in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja on Thursday said it had yet to take any position on the matter.
The Board of Trustees of the party had earlier set up a committee led by Senator Iyorchia Ayu to investigate the House of Representatives Minority Leadership crisis.
Ologbondiyan said that the clarification was necessary in the light of public enquiries and conflicting reports on the position of the leadership of the party on the matter.
He said: “The NWC hereby clarifies that it has not yet received any report from the BoT concerning the outcome of the five-member committee it set up to intervene on the contentious matter.
“Consequently, the NWC maintains that it has not taken any decision to review its subsisting stance on the minority leadership of the House of Representatives.
“The NWC therefore urges critical stakeholders, party members and the general public to completely disregard any report to the contrary.”
The PDP in July suspended Hon. Ndudi Elumelu and six others over the role they played in the emergence of Elumelu as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives against the wish of the party.
The action made the party BoT to set up a five member committee to intervene on the matter.
