African Champions, the Super Eagles, have arrived South Africa on Friday morning ahead of their next week’s World Cup qualifying cracker against the Flames of Namibia in Windhoek.
The team’s coordinator, Emmanuel Attah, disclosed this during a brief chat as the members of the country’s national team touch down at the rainbow nation.
According to Attah, the earlier plans to fly back to Germany was jettisoned in the last minute, as it is believed that such arrangement is cumbersome and will get the players tired.
His words: “Members of the football house in their wisdom believe going to Europe to prepare for the game against Namibia could get the boys tired so we settled for South Africa and from here, we link for Namibia for the crucial game.
“The Eagles are now in South Africa and they are looking great. I also believe the boys can’t wait for the Namibia game to come alive.”
Having pipped the Harambee Stars of Kenya 1-0 before their home supporters in Nairobi, the Super Eagles are aiming at consolidating their winning streak and also seating comfortably on top of Group F table.
