A Nigeria Football Federation presidential aspirant, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, has been stopped from departing Abuja for the venue of the football body’s elections in Warri, Delta State.
The Eagle Online gathered that operatives of the Department of State Service were at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in search of the Kaduna State-born football administrator.
The DSS operatives were reported to have harassed the outgoing NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, who was already on board to Warri, Delta State to preside over the NFF polls.
Maigari was however let off the hook after identifying himself as not being the sought after Dikko and does not know the aspirant’s whereabout.
Dikko, apparently aware of the DSS hunt for him, opted to storm Warri by road.
However, as at press time, he was no where near the oil-rich state.
A competent source hinted that security men, who are armed to the teeth, have been put on the alert to prevent Dikko from gaining access to the election venue as he is not the anointed presidential candidate for the new NFF board.
Many said he is favoured to win if he makes it to the election venue.
