The Management of Kano Pillars FC, a team in the Nigeria Professional Football League, has suspended the club’s Technical Adviser, Usman Abdallah, for three weeks due to the team’s poor performance.
The suspension of the Technical Adviser was contained in a statement by the Chairman of the club, Ali Umar, issued on Sunday in Kano.
Umar said Abdallah was also suspended over his conduct towards fans immediately after the NPFL Match day 22 goalless draw against Bayelsa United on Sunday.
He said: “The management took the decision following Abdallah’s inappropriate gesture towards supporters at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
“He struggled to find consistency in recent matches, securing only one win in their last three outings.
“This dip in form has raised concerns in the management and supporters, who expect a high level of performance from the team.”

The management added that Chief Coach Ahmed Yaro-Yaro will lead the team during Abdallah’s suspension, supported by assistant coaches Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa.
The club reiterated its commitment to “maintaining professionalism and fostering a respectful relationship between the team and its passionate supporters”.
The management further added that Kano Pillars will shift their focus to their upcoming NPFL Match Day 23 fixture against Remo Stars in Ikenne, Ogun State, where they aim to bounce back and restore supporters’ confidence.
NAN reports that Abdallah in August 2024 signed a two-year contract with an option for a third with Kano Pillars.
