Super Eagles’ midfielder, Nosa Igiebor, grabbed the solitary goal in Real Betis win over Villareal in a La Liga clash on Sunday.
The Nigerian international first half goal ended the unbeaten run of Villarreal this season.
Igiebor pounced to slot home the rebound after Joan Verdu’s initial shot had been parried in the 37th minute as Villareal’s attempts at levelling up were futile.
The Yellow Submarine’s woes were compounded in stoppage-time when Head Coach, Marcelino Garcia Toral, was sent to the stands after protesting when his side had a penalty appeal turned down.
Igiebor is expected to teem up with the Super Eagles ahead of the October 13 World Cup qualifying play off against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.
