The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy morning over the Central States of the country on Monday with chances of localized thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Bida, Ilorin and Lokoja.
NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office on Sunday in Abuja.
It also predicted prospects thunderstorms over Mambilla Plateau and Jalingo axis later in the day with day and night temperatures of 30 to 36 and 18 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted the southern states would experience widespread morning thunderstorms over Awka, Enugu, Umuahia and over Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo, Ibadan, Saki, Akure and Iseyin later in the day.
It also predicted afternoon/evening localized thunderstorms over Portharcourt, Calabar, Eket, Uyo, Yeangoa and Warri with day and night temperatures of 30 to 35 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy conditions in the morning and prospects of localized thunderstorms over Sokoto, Gusau, Yelwa, Gombe and Bauchi later in the day.
NiMet predicted: “Sunny skies are expected over the northern region while partly cloudy with chances of localized thundery activities are anticipated over the central region.
“Thunderstorms are anticipated over the country in the next 24 hours.”
