Lagos-based MFM FC Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, on Wednesday said the team would not be carried away in spite of claiming his much touted away win against Remo Stars FC in Oshogbo.
The youthful coach can now heave a sigh of relief after his young team claimed a vital 1-0 away win against Remo Stars FC in Osogbo.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the team’s gaffer had earlier in his pre-match interview spoke passionately of getting an away win which eventually came to fruition.
The Match Day 7 Nigeria Professional Football League dubbed South-West derby had Kabir Adeniji score the only goal that separated both sides at the Osogbo Township Stadium.
An elated Ilechukwu told NAN that though he so much cherished the win, he won’t be swayed by the crucial win adding that there were many hurdles to cross still.
He said: “The victory is a great one because it is what we have been looking forward to and today, we got it.
“Remo Stars played better in the second half but we were able to curtail them, I will also give it to them.
“I must congratulate my boys for a job well delivered. What I know is that we won’t allow this away win get to our heads. We must make sure that we win our home games as well.”
