Troops intercepts, neutralise suicide bomber

Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Thursday intercepted and neutralized a male suicide bomber at the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno State.

He was said to have come in through Alidawari village, about 4km ahead of Jidari, strapped with heavy Improvised Explosive Devices vest.
The vigilant troops on sighting him laid in wait for the intruder who vehemently refused to stop despite several warnings and challenges.
A marksman was reported to have neutralized the suicide bomber.
The combined team of the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police Explosive Ordinance Device safely detonated the IED laden vest on the suicide bomber.
