Browsing: Udom Emmanuel

As expected, most times, his Biblical quotations are used to justify his actions and condemn or warn those who engage in acts that are not in the interest of the people.

However, the first time I heard and saw Udom move a crowd to frenzy, he spoke extempore. That was five years ago when he addressed Obong Attah at an event organised by Senator Effiong Bob to mark his wife’s 50th birthday; in Abuja.

Then he went Biblical when he deliberately compared that moment to the crossing of River Jordan by the Israelites; into the Promised Land. Within Biblical context, whenever one talks about the Promised Land, then he has gone beyond a mere political promise into something more ecclesiastical. This implies a covenant—unbreakable bond.

The Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, made this known when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom in the Government House in Uyo on Friday.

Emmanuel gave the charge on Wednesday in Uyo, when participants of Syndicate 2 of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 14 and faculty members from NISS, Abuja, visited him.

Although the details of the caucus meeting holding as at press time at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro were undisclosed, one of the issues being speculated to be on the agenda was the defection of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
