The Edo State House of Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution lifting the suspension on Philip Eguaroje, the Vice Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state.
The request followed the consideration of the report of the panel of enquiry constituted by Governor Godwin Obaseki to investigate allegations of fraud leveled against the chairman.
This was seen as a further deepening of the face-off between the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his immediate predecessor, now National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole
This followed a motion by the Majority Leader, Roland Asoro, and seconded by Monday Ehighalua (PDP-Esan West) at the plenary in Benin.
The Edo House of Assembly on Monday passed a Bill for a law to repeal and re-enact the law to prohibit the existence, membership and activities of Secret Cults in the state.
The Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto, who constituted the committee at plenary, said the deputy speaker was being accused of divulging official secret to the public.
The confirmation followed the presentation of the report of the house Committee on Rules, Business and Government House at the floor of the house.
The dissolution was sequel to a letter signed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, which was sent to the House requesting it to dissolve the EDSOGPADEC Board
It will be recalled that Governor Godwin Obaseki on October 16 wrote to the House to approve the budget’s reduction from N153.18 billion as passed in February to N127.92 billion.
