Dr Fayemi who stated that the government’s advocacy for the national dialogue “seems to be a ploy to divert attention from the administration’s mishandling of issues” , added that the Federal Government does not need the national dialogue to honour the agreement it made with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), leading to “trust deficit that immediately disqualifies this administration from supervising a national dialogue”
The speaker said that the country soon be embroiled in electioneering, adding that Nigerians would not have time for any dialogue
Presenting the organisation’s position at the stakeholders’ interactive session in Enugu on Wednesday, its President, Chief Garry Igariwe, said the submission was done after consultations with other Igbo organisations
They also stressed the need for the national dialogue to be sovereign, noting that its submission should not be sent to the National Assembly, but adopted through a referendum
