This is as an international media body with over 300 media practitioners covering migration matters across the continents, Journalists International Forum For Migration, with headquarters in Lagos on Thursday petitioned the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other organisations to come her rescue.

The baby factory, Nwamaka Herbal Centre, located at Ikpokwu, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State was sealed by operatives of the agency on Wednesday following the refusal of the owner to respond to invitations extended to her by the agency.

Ijeoma Uduak,  Commander, NAPTIP, Benin Zone,  reunited the victim with her mother, name (withheld) at the palace of Idu Uruan Village Head in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, on Saturday.

Sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs and implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the retreat provided an opportunity for members of the judiciary and prosecutors at the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to discuss admissibility of electronic evidence in human trafficking cases under Nigerian law.  

The NAPTIP boss gave this assurance on Saturday, in Abuja, when a team of the media that cover the agency, led by Enemaku Ojochegbe, of African Independent Television, paid her a visit.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, who doubled as Chairman of the Committee on Child and Human Trafficking in the State, Akingbolahan Adeniran, made this submission during the constitution of Coordinators and Subcommittee of Task Forces to tackle incessant human trafficking and molestation of child, held at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
