New Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente made wholesale changes in his first squad selection since replacing Luis Enrique as head coach of the 2010 world champions.

The 36-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender won FIFA World Cup in 2010 as well as two European Championships.

Enrique has left his role with the national side following the team’s disappointing 2022 World Cup, which saw them lose on penalties to Morocco in the last-16 stage of the competition.
