Justice Osatohanmwen Obaseki-Osaghae, delivering judgment on Thursday, also held that the governor lacked the power to set up the commission of Inquiry to investigate the strike of May 16 to May 19, 2021 and the activities that emanated from it.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Obaseki-Osaghae had on May 19 fixed Wednesday for defence.
Part of the money that formed the sum total as ordered by the court, was also for wrongful termination of the claimant’s employment, salary earned for May 2017 and costs of the suit.
The presiding judge, Justice Osatohanmwen Obaseki-Osaghae, told counsel to the applicants, Martin Agba, that a copy of the motion dated January 18, which he claimed to have been filed on January 26, was not in court file.
The ASMEDA filed the suit against the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, over alleged disregard to court order.
